Fantasy books are the most popular Genre of books. They always take you into this beautiful unique place which makes things appear more beautiful and it makes us want to visit it. They have the ability to entertain children, young adults and people of any other age.
In the past it was the, “The Chronicles of Narnia” and The Lord of the Rings and its prelude the Hobbit. In the recent times it’s been Eragon and one of the greatest books ever, Harry Potter.

1. Harry Potter by JK Rowling

Harry Potter is an orphan boy who lives with his aunt, uncle and cousin, who don’t treat him very well. He lives in an ordinary world with ordinary people. He later finds out about his parents, his legacy and he’s invited to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft to learn to be a wizard. He does accept this invitation and joins the school. From here on unimaginable and breathtaking adventures lie ahead for him and the friends he meets here.
Harry Potter Series by JK Rowling is one of the best series ever. It’s beautiful and unique imagination written in the simplest language. Once you start reading the books you will not be able to stop yourself from flipping the pages. All children and fantasy book fans must read this book.
2. Eragon (Inheritance Cycle) by Christopher Paolini

Eragon goes out hunting in the Spine, a place in the mountains, where very few humans venture into. Here he finds a beautiful blue stone, which he brings home. He plans to sell it to help his family raise some money, but nobody wants to buy it. He keeps the stone with himself and it eventually hatches and a dragon comes out of it. He names the dragon Saphira and raises her. Both of them grow and get close to each other. Eragon now becomes one of the few dragon riders known to exist.
Later Eragon has to flee from his village as the Ra’zac come looking for the egg and they destroy his family and his house. A very fascinating adventure lies ahead of him and Saphira. There are many places to be found and many important choices to be made.
Eragon by Christopher Paolini is an adventure packed book, which has many interesting characters like Elves, Dragons, Dwarves, etc. If you’re a fan of fantasy you should read this book as it’s filled with magic and battles.
3. The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis

It’s World War II and brothers and sisters Lucy, Susan, Peter and Edmund are evacuated from London and are sent to Professor Digory Kirk’s country house in the country side. This is a huge house and it gets the restless kids curious so they spend their time exploring it.
On one of these explorations Lucy enters a wardrobe and discovers the secret magical world Narnia. She tells her brothers and sisters about it, but nobody believes her. She eventually proves it by taking them there and a world full of unique creatures opens up to them.
The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis is one of the best fantasy books. It’s been read by children and adults for years and years. It’s well written and is extremely easy to read. Narnia is one of the most beautiful places imagined. The unique creatures here will entertain you throughout the book.
4. The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien

Bilbo Baggins, a Hobbit, has decided that he needs a vacation. So he sets off on his vacation, but before leaving he leaves one of his possessions, a ring with is nephew Frodo. Many years later he returns to the Shire and then he and his nephew Frodo have a big discussion about the ring. Frodo finds out that the evil Sauron, The Dark Lord of Mordor is looking for it, as it will make him stronger. To prevent Sauron from finding the ring Frodo sets off on a journey away from the Shire.
The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien is a series that needs to be read by every fantasy book fan. It’s a story filled with adventure, magic and epic battles. This book has the ability to influence you. You can also enjoy it a lot more if you read “The Hobbit” before you read this book.
5. Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer

12 year old Artemis Fowl kidnaps a fairy and decides to hold her as ransom for a lot of gold which will help get rid of his family’s troubles. What he doesn’t know is that this fairy he kidnaps is a part of a police force and his troubles begin as the police start to chase him and he’s got to escape them. It becomes fowl’s folly that the kidnap lands him in trouble with police.
Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer is a fantasy book with a unique plot. It’s well written and is very entertaining. It’s a little violent at some parts, but these violent parts are nullified by some of the funny parts. The most interesting part is that the protagonist is an anti-hero and for some reason you will really end up liking him.
