Cornflake can make an amazing breakfast. All you need to do is add a bit of milk, sugar and maybe some fruit. All of this together is just so delicious. But did you know you could use cornflakes to make delicious chocolate clusters by adding chocolate, butter and raisins and maybe some nuts too?
They are extremely easy to make. You should be able to make them in less than 30 minutes. Also as they are clusters, you don’t need to worry about the shape, they can be any shape you want them to be.
The step by step instructions below will help you get started with making your delicious and crunchy cornflake, raisin and chocolate clusters:-
The ingredients you will need are 200 gms of cornflakes, 200 gms of milk chocolate, 200 gms of dark chocolate, half a stick of butter a handful of raisins. You can also add some nuts if you want to.
Take an empty bowl.
Break the bars of dark and milk chocolate with your hand and place it in the bowl.
Cut the stick of butter in half.
Add half a stick of butter to the chocolate.
Place the butter and chocolate together in the microwave for 3 minutes. You could also place this over a double boiler to melt it, but it takes a lot longer. This way of using the microwave is much faster.
After heating it for 3 minutes remove the bowl from the microwave. You will find that the butter’s melted but the chocolate hasn’t. Mix the chocolate with the hot butter till they form a smooth mixture.
Add 125 gms of the cornflakes to the mixture…
Mix it together…
Add the rest of the cornflakes and the raisins. You could also add some nuts (cashews, peanuts, almonds, etc.) if you want to.
Mix it all together till the cornflakes are completely coated with chocolate and the mixture looks nice and chocolatey.
Grease a tray with butter.
Using a serving spoon or your hands pick up bits of the mixture and place it on your tray. They can be of any shape you want them to be, as they’re not flat bakes or balls.
Place the tray in the refrigerator for 30 minutes or till it hardens. After they harden remove the tray from the fridge and then scoop out the clusters and place them on a plate.
