Pros and Cons of Being a VampireI am bombarded by fictional vampires every day. With the success of countless books (Twilight, The Southern Vampire Mysteries, etc.), movies (Twilight, An Interview With a Vampire, etc.) and TV Shows (True Blood, The Vampire Diaries, Being Human, etc.) I see vampires all around as I keep hearing about vampires and their lifestyles everyday over both the TV and the internet.

Yesterday was Halloween, I knew if I was to dress up as any creature I would have gone as a vampire, not only because it’s easy (all you need is a fake teeth – maybe a cape too if you want to be the “THE VAMPIRE”), but also because I like them.

This got me wondering what would it be like to be a vampire, will life be better or will it just be the same or will life be uninteresting. This is why I have a compiled the Pros and Cons of being a vampire below:-

Fox Hunting – One of the Cruellest Sports Ever

A crimson red fox runs through woods and farms all covered with undergrowth, with its heart beating wildly. While a huge pack of dogs, chase this lone fox. The dogs normally belong to the foxhound breed. And that’s not all these dogs are joined by huntsmen who ride their own horses.

One tiny little fox chased by massive dogs and massive men on towering horses, that’s what fox hunting, is all about. The chase goes on till this group of blood thirsty hunters finally jump upon and destroy the tiny fox. Normally when the fox escapes into the burrow, terriers are brought in, to dig the fox out, so that the group of dogs can hunt it down and attack it together. Sometimes, if lucky, the hunter eases the fox of all this pain caused by the sharp mouths of the dogs, by silencing it with a bullet.

What is an Ogre

An ogre is a huge, tall human like, fictional creature. They are known to be scary and evil. The word Ogre is French. It was first used was by French poet Chrétien de Troyes. He used it in his verse Perceval, the Story of the Grail.

When it first started out, they were always shown as big evil creatures in fictional settings that attacked and troubled humans and other beings. They got so popular that many evil people of the past have been called ogres. It’s also sometimes used in modern days. As time passed by, some ogres have been depicted as nice friendly characters.

The Animals of Farthing Wood by Colin Dann – Book Review

Humans, in their quest to acquire more and more land, start encroaching into Farthing Wood. It starts with all the massive bulldozers tearing up the forest and the homes of many animals. This scares all the animals and a meeting is held at the badger’s burrow.

The meeting is attended by animals like badger, fox, weasel, adder, toad, owl, kestrel, etc. The meeting is lead by fox and badger, who try to come up with a solution which will help save the animals from the dangers in the forest. Of all the animals, toad comes up with the best solution.

Balto – Movie Review

Balto is a half wolf – half dog that lives in the city of Nome, Alaska. All the humans and dogs don’t like him and avoid him because he’s half wolf. Boris a Russian Goose, Muk and Luk – two polar bears are his only friends.

One night, when Balto walks through the city of Nome, he sees Jenna a female Husky, who he really likes, looking at something through a window. He goes to her and tries to talk to her, but she’s sad as her master Rosy, a little girl, is ill. They later find out that she and many other children are infected with Diphtheria and the doctor has run out of the antitoxin.

White Fang’s a 3/4th wolf and 1/4th dog who is born in the wild. His mother’s a half wolf – half dog who was initially raised by humans and his father’s a complete wild wolf. At the beginning White Fang is raised in the wild by his mother. He learns about all the wild ways of the forest where you need to be hard and wild to survive. While growing up in the wild he has his first encounter with humans in the woods.
